This NYSE listed, Fortune 100 aerospace company, is one of the largest in the world. This group has an unrivalled portfolio of vehicles spanning the defence, aerospace and marine industries. With their ever expanding remit and complex supply chain, the need has arisen for a VAT Manager to join the Group. You will work across the defence, aerospace and private aviation parts of the business in a truly diverse role. You will be responsible for VAT Risk Management and Compliance worldwide, with a core focus on EMEA and APAC

Part of global team, your role be based in either Zurich or Basel or Kreuzlingen offices.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Act as the focal point in the Tax Department for VAT and Customs issues
  • Mitigate/Manage/supervise VAT Risks and improve VAT cash flow
  • Actively work to optimize, document and standardize processes surrounding VAT
  • Train and provide guidance to Finance and Operations functions on VAT issues
  • Support and lead projects regarding VAT planning
  • Monitor and support VAT registrations and returns outside of home country for the above entities; EMEA and APAC
  • Coordinate external VAT advisors
  • Support/monitor with questions to VAT compliance, as performed by local VAT accountants
  • Ensure compliance with the VAT laws across multiple jurisdictions
  • Ensure adequate documentation of VAT processes for the different defence and aviation businesses
  • Supervise VAT declarations & reconcile VAT accounts for Swiss entities
  • Supervise accounting for Swiss entities function as regards to VAT processes and accounting entries
  • Maintain and develop the VAT settings in SAP
  • Coordinate external VAT audits and support Customs audits
  • Perform internal VAT reviews
  • Ensure reclaim of foreign input VAT is carried out cost efficiently
  • Identify non-VAT risks and opportunities and liaise with other tax areas to address those

Key Requirements:

  • Strong VAT background in VAT, international exposure an advantage
  • Swiss VAT experience
  • SAP knowledge
  • Excellent English and German, French also would be an advantage
